Oil Pulling For Healthy Teeth

Oil Pulling - A Simple Process

You're probably wondering what oil pulling is and how it works. First, it's a very simple process that is not expensive and will not take up a lot of time. Second, it's an alternative medicine that has been practiced for many years in countries like China and Japan, but is now becoming more familiar here in the U.S.

Although there have been books written and research done on the oil pulling process, you have to try it for yourself since every one is different and will have different results. Oil pulling has many benefits, but the one I have tested and proved to work is for improved dental care.

How To Oil Pull

Oil pulling is an easy practice that takes 20 minutes to complete first thing in the morning. The only cost is that of the oil you choose to use. In my opinion, it is easy and very relaxing when done regularly.

Basically, oil pulling is the swishing of oil inside the mouth (about a tablespoon), in and out of the teeth, all around the gums, swish-swish-swish for 20 minutes. It's like you're rinsing your mouth with mouthwash, only doing so in a continuous, slow motion without spitting it out until you reach the recommended time.

Twenty minutes is the recommended time for oil pulling. However, if this is too long your first time, spit it out and continue on until you reach the the full 20 minutes. Practice makes perfect. My first time trying, I was able to swish the oil around for 10 minutes straight. I spit it out and started again for another 10 minutes.

When you're done and have reached the amount of time, simply spit it out in the toilet, rinse your mouth with warm water or mouthwash, and you're done. This is important because of the presence of toxins and bacteria inside your mouth mixed in with the oil, so rinse thoroughly. This process can be done up to three times per day.

Any kind of oil can be used. I do my morning oil pulling with coconut oil mainly because I don't mind the taste plus there are many health benefits. However, the most common oils used are sunflower, sesame, or virgin olive.

My experience with it has been great in that I haven't been sick all winter (which is a first for me), and my yearly visit to the dentist was a good one with no cavities (also a first for me!!) So, I believe oil pulling really does work.

When?

The best time of the day to oil pull would be first thing in the morning upon wakening. It works best when done on an empty stomach, before eating or drinking anything. It can be done up to 3 times per day, waiting 4 hours after a meal.

The process is safe and can be done by anyone old enough to swish oil around in the mouth without swallowing. There isn't an age restriction. It's a very safe process that is not harmful to the body in any way. The oil is simply drawing out the toxins and bacteria hiding inside the mouth, which can make you sick.

How Does It Work

It works simply by pulling the toxins and bacteria present inside the mouth into the oil. Believe it or not, but these toxins are responsible for causing all kinds of illnesses when entered into the bloodstream. The oil acts like a magnet drawing out these toxins that can potentially harm us if left alone. This bacteria is hiding in the gums, the pores, the small crevices, and the tiny tubules between the teeth.

Your saliva and whichever oil you choose will work in sync by pulling out these toxins and drawing them into the oil for you to expel and rid the body of. Doing so will help improve your dental health and clean your teeth. Think about it, the mouth is the gateway to the body and the germs that enter into it will surely enter into the bloodstream causing sickness.

Improves Dental Health

Dental issues such as bleeding gums, oral pain, loose teeth, stained teeth, bad breath, tooth decay, cavities, tooth sensitivity, oral infections, and many more can benefit from oil pulling. Any type of oil will work: organic coconut, sunflower, sesame, and virgin olive. A book was written by Dr. Karach explaining how this process heals. The book is called "Oil Pulling Therapy."

Dr. Karach explains that there are many benefits with oil pulling, but dental health is what stands out the most. I have been oil pulling with coconut oil for the last six months since my last dental visit where I had 3 cavities, which were filled. My next visit the following year showed a very healthy mouth with zero cavities due to six months of oil pulling therapy.
